Call for CCDC Sponsored Studentships – 2013
The CCDC has for over 20 years run a successful studentship program in collaboration with universities in the UK. We are now looking to take on 2-3 studentships to start in October 2013.
CCDC sponsored studentships are usually based at the collaborating university and can be 3, 3.5 or 4 years in length. The standard funding arrangement sees CCDC provide top-up funding on the CASE model (usually up to 33% of main funding but dependant on circumstances). Main funding will usually be obtained by the collaborating academic from other funding bodies such as the EPSRC. Placement of the student at CCDC for short periods during the studentship is usual and CCDC will pay the expenses associated with that.
We invite interested Principal Investigators that are associated with a UK university to submit a research proposal to reach us by January 31st 2013. The proposed research should be closely allied to one of our Research Themes. Eligible applications require that main funding should already be in place. Proposals will be favoured where it can be shown there is a good likelihood of a high quality student being available to take up the studentship.
Each proposal should summarise the research project in ideally no more than two sides of A4. The expected length of the studentship should be stipulated. The amount of CCDC funding that is required should be estimated and broken down into top-up of student stipend, and departmental expenses.
We will endeavour to complete assessment of proposals by end of February 2013. For more information on our studentship program please contact .
