The CCDC Welcomes Dave Watson
The CCDC is pleased to announce that the CCDC Board of Trustees have appointed Mr David Watson as interim Chief Operating Officer of the CCDC.
Dave is recently retired from leading Lhasa Limited, a not-for-profit company and educational charity, which facilitates collaborative data sharing projects in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemistry-related industries. Dave has worked in the steel industry, obtained an Honours Degree in Metallurgy from the University of Sheffield, has provided sales and technical support for refractory raw materials, worked in the packaging industry in a range of sales and marketing roles, and obtained an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University.
Dave’s first general management role was as MD of Seven Newcastle which grew substantially under his stewardship. He supported the Seven Worldwide/AGT Group in their US and Australian operations. He then led A4e Consult, bringing together a number of disparate government service contracts, spinning out A4e Fund as a standalone division to manage learning contracts.
During his time at Lhasa, Dave facilitated the growth of the organisation both in terms staff numbers and of the members that are supported through science and software developments.
Dave is joining CCDC to aid CCDC staff in their work in making crystallographic data, and software built on crystallographic data central to the core industries and academic partners that we serve.
