Christin Schaerfer

Christin Schärfer studied business information technology and bioinformatics at the University of Hamburg. She stayed in Hamburg in Matthias Rareys group and obtained her PhD in computer science in 2013. Her research on knowledge-based analysis of conformations in small molecules was in collaboration and funded by F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. In 2012 she received the CINF Scholarship for Scientific Excellence (funded by FIZ CHEMIE Berlin) for her work “Torsion Fingerprint Deviation: A novel measure to compare small molecule conformations.” After her PhD, Christin joined the CCDC as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on scaffold hopping in collaboration with Syngenta. She is now working as a Scientific Software Engineer in the Life Sciences team.
