The CCDC 2016 Student Travel Awards
The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre will sponsor Student Travel Awards for the 2016 American Crystallographic Association meeting and the 2016 Fall Meeting of the American Chemical Society. Awards will go to student attendees whose use of the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and other related CCDC software and data is instrumental to their research.
For the American Crystallographic Association meeting, July 22nd-26th 2016, Denver, CO:
The CCDC will grant up to two travel awards in the amount of $500 each to students whose use of the Cambridge Structural Database contributes significantly to their research. Interested applicants should apply through the ACA’s travel grant program and will be chosen from the pool of all eligible abstracts. Each application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation by an advisor or mentor. Eligibility is limited to current students (undergraduate or graduate) at institutions in North, Central and South America. Interested students have until March 31st to submit an abstract through the ACA website.
For the American Chemical Society Fall meeting, August 21st-25th, 2016 Philadelphia, PA
The CCDC, in collaboration with the ACS Chemical Information division (CINF), will present two awardees with $750 awards each to attend the Fall National Meeting where they will present their poster at Sci-Mix, the large cross-divisional poster session of ACS. Awardees also have the option of presenting their work in the form of a talk at the meeting (symposium to be determined).
Eligible applicants must be a undergraduate or graduate student at time of application, in a North American institute. Awardees must attend the ACS National Meeting to receive the award (awards will be presented in person), and be a member of ACS and CINF division by the time of award presentation.
Applicants must submit an abstract to the selection committee by February 28th, 2016; one month prior to the national meeting abstract submission deadline. Awardees will be notified two weeks before the close of the registration system, and must then submit their abstract to the National Meeting as directed. The selection committee will not submit the abstract on the awardees’ behalf.
The CCDC is committed to fostering participation of student researchers at scientific conferences.
