2017 CCDC Prize Winner Announced
The CCDC is very pleased to announce that the winner of the 2017 edition of the CCDC Chemical Crystallography Prize for Younger Scientists is Dr Lauren Hatcher from the University of Bath.
As is traditional, Lauren will be awarded the CCDC Prize along with a specially-produced commemorative item when she gives the prize lecture on her research at the upcoming BCA Spring Meeting in Lancaster (10th-13th April 2017).
“Lauren’s research in the field of photocrystallography has really pushed forward the boundaries of what can be achieved with metastable linkage isomers in terms of the experimental limits of the materials and crucially the structural understanding. Both the research itself and her skills in communicating the science have shown what a valuable member of the British crystallography community she is.”
Pete Wood (CCG Chair)
“The CCDC is proud to sponsor this high profile crystallography prize and delighted to hear that it is being presented to such a worthy winner this year! Lauren’s research work on metastable materials over the last few years has been outstanding and we congratulate her on this award.”
Neil Feeder (Materials Science Team Leader, CCDC)
