Welcome!
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the new and improved CCDC website. Given the big changes that have been implemented (both in terms of the layout and with the technology behind the scenes) we’ve decided to first launch the new site as this ‘beta-release’. This should give you a chance to get used to the updated look, while still giving you the backup of the site you’ve become familiar with over the past few years. Importantly for us, it also allows you to give us your views and feedback as we continue to develop the site. If you have a few spare minutes, please take a look around the new site and fill in our feedback form (there should be a link to the form from every page), we really are keen to hear what you think.
The new-look website is just part of the efforts the CCDC has undertaken in the past year to better connect with our users and customers, and there are now more ways than ever to get in touch. The CCDC has always been active in the scientific community, regularly attending conferences and keeping you informed with our CrystalLine newsletter. Now you can also follow us on twitter (@ccdc_cambridge) and ‘like’ us on Facebook, where we report the latest CCDC news. The new website offers improved customer support and new exciting features, and should continue to develop in the months to come.
I hope this new blog will help to give an insight into the activities of the around 50 staff who work at the CCDC. This includes the research scientists who you may know of from conferences or through journal publications, to the less public facing (but no less important) software developers and database staff who help to create the CCDC products you’re all familiar with.
Thank you for reading my very first CCDC blog, I hope you enjoy using the new website!
