17th Canadian Chemical Crystallography Workshop (CCCW26)
Theory and Practice of Single‑Crystal X‑ray Diffraction
19–23 May, University of Guelph (CA)
This workshop is aimed at chemistry graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who would benefit from a stronger understanding of the theory and practice of structure determination using single‑crystal X‑ray diffraction. The workshop focuses on developing skills in the critical assessment of single‑crystal X‑ray structures.
Topics may cover crystal growth, diffraction theory, symmetry and space groups, reciprocal space, data integration, structure solution and model building, refinement, and the analysis and presentation of derived data.
The programme includes an online presentation on Data Analysis Using the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) by Yinka Olatunji‑Ojo from the CCDC, alongside an in‑person talk, An Introduction to the CSD, presented by CSD Champion Kate Marczenko. Both sessions will take place on Friday, 22 May.
