15th International Workshop on Crystal Growth of Organic Materials (CGOM15)
23-26 July 2024, Phuket, Thailand
CGOM15 will provide a platform for academic researchers, scientists, and industry experts globally to discuss recent advances in crystallization and crystal growth sciences and process technology. The program includes plenary lectures, invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster presentations.
Meet Pietro Sacchi, Research and Applications Scientist at the CCDC, presenting his work on developing a model for predicting the morphology of pharmaceutical compounds. Here is Pietro’s abstract:
The shape and size of organic crystalline products can significantly affect a material’s properties. Crystal morphology can be influenced by environmental variables like solvents, temperatures, and growth modifiers. We’re developing a model for predicting pharmaceutical compound morphology using Particle Informatics, drawing from over 1.25 million experimental crystal structures in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). This will help estimate the effect of environmental variables on crystal morphology.
