Inaugural Caribbean Crystallography School
2–7 June, The University of the West Indies (JM)
The Caribbean Regional X-ray Science Toward Advancement Laboratory (crXstal) was established in October 2024 at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. It serves as a regional hub for capacity building in X-ray crystallography through education and research. Its main objectives include teaching the technique through courses and outreach, facilitating innovative research that tackles regional challenges, and positioning the Caribbean as a leader in the field.
During the school, attendees will learn the fundamental theory of X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, techniques for growing single crystals, solving single-crystal structures using various software packages, and preparing crystal structure data for publication.
Join the CCDC team lectures with Ilaria Gimondi, Senior Training, Education and Outreach Officer, and Yinka Olatunji-Ojo, User Support Scientist.
