The CCDC is a research institution which is dedicated to the advancement of chemistry and crystallography. By compiling and distributing the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD), (the world's repository of experimentally determined organic and metal-organic crystal structures) the CCDC is the custodian of an invaluable source of data for the scientific community and from which new research tools can be developed.

A number of initiatives are coordinated by the CCDC with the aim of highlighting the value of the CSD and it’s derived software in key areas of education and research.

Crystal Form Consortium

The CCDC's collaborative venture bringing together development scientists from leading companies in the industrial sector with software, database and research experts at the CCDC.

CSP Blind Tests

An international collaborative project to evaluate the present state of computational methods for predicting crystal structures of small organic molecules.

Educational Resources

A range of tools to enhance learning across the chemistry curriculum giving students the opportunity to visualise and manipulate real molecules in 3D and to work with experimentally-measured data.
