The Crystal Form Consortium: 15 Years of Industry-led Informatics Innovation
Advancing the Drug Development Pipeline with Structural Informatics Tools
The Crystal Form Consortium (CFC) originated 15 years ago to address the lack of rational design tools for solid form development. Led by a strong collaboration between pharmaceutical companies and the CCDC, the CFC developed a variety of structural informatics tools to better understand the stability and properties of solid forms. These tools enable solid form health checks to be undertaken, including:
- Assessing the risks of polymorphism
- Evaluating the geometries of the existing interactions
- Rationalizing aromatic and H-bond interactions
- Investigating hydrated and solvated structures
The CFC: Origins, Organizations Involved, and Outputs
In this white paper, you’ll learn more about:
- The reasons why the CFC was established
- Which organizations are currently part of the consortium
- How a solid form can influence the properties of the drug product
- The structural informatics tools developed by the CFC
- The importance of using these tools to mitigate the risks in solid form selection and development
