How does licensing work for the CSD Portfolio?

Solution

The CSDS is licensed on a geographical site basis and access is subject to a Licence Agreement. From 2020 the software is licensed for the period that has been purchased, which may be a single year, part of a year or multiple years.

Standard licensing is node locked. This means that for each allowed installation of the CSDS, the software can be installed and activated on one machine. However, there is no limit to the number of users that may access the installation. If a site-wide licence has been purchased, then an alternative solution utilising a locally installed licence server is also available on request.

All components of the CSDS are set to expire when the licence expires - there is no longer a grace period where access is granted for a short period afterwards.
