How do I create a 3D printable model file using Mercury?

Solution

3D printable model files can now be generated directly from Mercury for use with either a local 3D printer or a web-based 3D printing service. To generate 3D printable model files, go to File in the top-level menu and choose Print in 3D... then select your preferred output file format and scale before clicking on Generate.

Recommended settings for generation of 3D printable model files are a scale of around 7.0-10.0 mm/Å and a file format of VRML (colour). For best results, we also recommend using the '3D Print' Mercury display style.
