Carmen Nitsche

Carmen first joined CCDC, Inc. as a board member in July 2019.  She moved into the General Manager role for CCDC Inc. in August 2019, where she is overseeing operations in the Americas.  She is dedicated to expanding the access and availability of the CCDC tools and data to all who can benefit from these critical scientific resources.

Carmen comes to this position with extensive experience in scientific searching, end-user technical search support, scientific database team management and software & database business development.  She has worked at ARCO, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Nalco Chemical Company,  MDL Information Systems, Symyx Technologies, Accelrys, and the Pistoia Alliance.   

Carmen earned a B.A. with honors in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis and an M.S. from the University of California at Berkeley. She has experience with chemical sales, working with Nalco chemical water treatment customers in the greater San Antonio area.

In 2013 Carmen founded CINforma Consulting, providing business development support in the scientific software and content arenas. Carmen's professional memberships include Sigma Xi and the American Chemical Society (including the Chemical Information and Chemical Health & Safety Divisions). Carmen is a Titular Member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry Committee on Publications and Cheminformatics Data Standards.  She lives in Long Branch, New Jersey with her husband Steven Bachrach and enjoys practicing Bikram Yoga wherever her travels take her.
