CSD Updates
Updates containing new CSD entries will be produced at intervals between
releases on DVD. CSD System subscribers may update their
installation by using the auto-update mechanism built into
Mercury, or by downloading these packages from
this page by clicking on the desired update.
NOTE: There are not currently any data updates available for 2012
CSDS Release
Important: These CSD Updates will also flag a number of
retractions for some entries in your existing CSD V5.32 database that
correspond to the falsified structures in some
IUCr papers.
Installation Instructions
Auto-update (recommended)
Mercury has the ability to detect and install a data update if there is
one available.
Start Mercury and select
Help -> Check for Updates and then follow the
prompts to install. You will need write permission to the main CSD
folder to install data updates.
When added to this directory the update(s) will be visible when restarting
ConQuest and Mercury.
Please note, there is a known issue with autoupdate under
Windows Vista or 7 due to problems with privilige escallation and
standard user accounts. You should either start Mercury as an
Administrator in order to have the autoupdate apply the update, or follow the
manual installation instructions below.
If, for some
reason, the autoupdate process does not work correctly, the patch installers
may be downloaded manually as described below.
Manual installation
Note: You should download the updates in numeric order, starting
with No.1 in the table.
