Pre-Publication deposition in the CCDC Supplementary Data Archive
You are invited to download the CCDC's enCIFer program from this site for CIF checking and editing.
If your crystal structure(s) are being submitted to a journal that has existing arrangements
with the CCDC, you must deposit the associated data with the CCDC prior to publication.
If your crystal structure(s) are being submitted for publication in any other journal, then the
CCDC also welcomes data deposition prior to publication.
However, for papers that are being submitted to Acta Crystallographica or
Zeitschrift für Kristallographie - New Crystal Structures data should be deposited
directly with the journal, who then supply the data to the CCDC.
Please click on the following links to see additional information on:
in CIF format, including author and journal details
sent as a plain text ASCII email to:
You will receive (normally within 3 working days) a summary report which will contain a
CCDC Deposition Number (CCDC nnnnnn) for inclusion in your submitted manuscript.
Please include this number in a footnote in the published paper,
so that individual datasets can be made available free of charge for bona
fide research use. Footnotes should be of the form:
"CCDC nnnnnn contains the supplementary crystallographic data for this paper. These data can be obtained free of charge
from The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre via www.ccdc.cam.ac.uk/data_request/cif."
If your data have not appeared in a journal publication within about a year of the date of deposition,
the CCDC will contact you to ask if the associated paper is still under consideration by a journal.
