CCDC Web Policies
CCDC Privacy Policy
When you access a CCDC Web site, the internet domain from which you
access the Web site (IP address) and search queries are recorded to
facilitate your requests. We will store search details for a minimum of
seven days in order to provide ongoing short-term access to your search
results.
Some of the services provided on CCDC web sites store details of your
institution and the IP ranges permitted access. Email addresses and,
where appropriate, passwords are stored securely for temporary
evaluation licenses and for data requests. Postal addresses may also be
stored. We may use personal data to seek your feedback or to contact you
in relation to our products and services, but these data will not be
passed to others without your permission.
Access to software applications and database services is provided
exclusively under the terms and conditions of valid licence of access
agreements with the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, CCDC
Software Limited or their sub-licensors.
Site statistics
In common with most Web sites, CCDC Web sites automatically log
certain information about every request made of them. These data provide
statistical information including the date and time you access our
site, type of browsers and operating systems being used to view the
site, paths taken through the site and other general information.
The aim of gathering this information is to help CCDC to improve our
service to all users. CCDC may use 3rd party services, such as Google
analytics, to collate and analyse the data on CCDC's behalf.
Security Notice
For site security purposes and to ensure that CCDC Web services
remain available to all users, our computer systems employ software
programs that monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts
to upload or change information. Any one using this system expressly
consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring
reveals evidence of possible abuse or criminal activity, such evidence
may be used to support legal action.
Logging of additional data may be enabled temporarily from time to
time for specific purposes. In addition, the computers on which the web
site is hosted keep records of attempts (authorised and unauthorised)
to use them for purposes other than access to the web server. These data
typically includes the date and time of the attempt, the service to
which access was attempted, the name or network address of the computer
making the connection, and may include details of what was done or was
attempted to be done.
Accessibility Statement
We continually strive to ensure the pages on our Web sites are
accessible to individuals with disabilities. If you have any difficulty
viewing any page with adaptive technology, please contact the CCDC.
Changes to these Policies
CCDC may change this Statement from time to time. When updates are
made, the Policy version date will also be updated to reflect that a
revision occurred. We encourage you to reread this Policy periodically
to see if there have been any changes that may affect you.
Feedback
If you wish to change or delete any of the personal information you
have entered whilst visiting our site or if you have any questions about our
privacy statement, please email us at admin@ccdc.cam.ac.uk
