 Which platforms are supported?
enCIFer 1.4 is supported on the following platforms and operating
systems:
- Windows - Intel compatible:
- 32-bit: Windows XP/Vista/7
- Linux - Intel compatible, 32-bit:
- RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL): 4, 5
- SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and Server (SLED|SLES): 10
- Debian: 4.0, 5.0
Mac OS X: 10.4, 10.5, 10.6
As we add support for newer versions of operating systems support for older versions may have to be withdrawn.
Note: The CCDC cannot maintain support for operating system versions prior to these,
but will attempt to determine whether software can be run on later versions of
operating systems wherever possible and practicable.
enCIFer launches with a
transparent window on my Linux system.
This can occur on newer Linux systems where desktop effects (such as
transparency, animation etc) are activated. In order to view the enCIFer
window normally you will need to temporarily disable these desktop
effects.
