Directions to The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any parking facilities at the CCDC, unless
previously arranged through your host. Limited street parking is available in
Union Road (pay and display). The nearest multi-storey car park (Queen Anne Terrace)

By Road
From North, South or West via the M11: Exit the M11 at junction 12 onto the A603,
signposted Cambridge. Enter Cambridge and carry on to a roundabout with a petrol station
on the left. Turn right (second exit) onto Fen Causeway and continue to a mini roundabout
with the Royal Cambridge Hotel on your left. Turn left (first exit) and pull into the right
hand lane. In 40m turn right (second exit) at another mini roundabout onto Lensfield road.
Continue along Lensfield Road to a main junction and set of traffic lights (large church on
right). Turn right onto Hills Road. In 150m take the second road on your right (Coronation
Street) and then second right again (Bentinck Street). Continue to the end and turn right
into Union Road. The Cambridge Crystallographic Centre is on the left (red brick building).
Enter the building through the telephone-controlled glass doors.
From the East via the A14: Exit the A14 at the Stow-cum-Quy interchange onto
the A1303 signposted Cambridge. Follow this road (Newmarket Road) into Cambridge (approx. 3 miles),
keeping straight on at all roundabouts and passing the Cambridge United Football Ground on your
left just before going over a railway bridge. Continue straight on to the next roundabout. Turn
left (first exit) onto East Road, and continue on through several sets of traffic lights. Just
after Parkers Piece (large grass area on right) filter into the left hand lane and turn left
at a major junction and set of traffic lights onto Hills Road. In 150m take the second road
on your right (Coronation Street) and then second right again (Bentinck Street). Continue to
the end and turn right into Union Road. The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre is on the
left (red brick building). Enter the building through the telephone-controlled glass doors.
By Train
From London and the South, Cambridge is serviced by frequent trains from London
Kings Cross and London Liverpool Street. Kings Cross is preferred, since it has
fast (50 minute) services to Cambridge twice every hour during the normal
working day. Most trains from the North and Midlands pass through Peterborough
and/or Ely, and both stations have direct connections to Cambridge. There is
also a rail link to and from Stansted Airport, and services to and from Norwich

minute walk away. Leave the station by the main entrance and walk straight ahead
down Station Road. At the end of the road (traffic lights with war memorial)
turn right onto Hills Road. Cross over Hills Road and walk for about five
minutes to Union Road (after the shops it's the second road on the left). Turn
left into Union Road and, just past the school, you will arrive at the Cambridge
Crystallographic Data Centre (red brick building). Enter the building through
the telephone-controlled glass doors. Alternatively the Cambridge
Crystallographic Data Centre, at 12 Union Road, is a five minute taxi ride from
Cambridge station.
