The CCDC sponsors international scientific awards for younger scientists through the auspices of
appropriate professional organisations, who are responsible for seeking nominations, judging poster
presentations and making arrangements for award presentations.
CCDC Prizes are awarded for original research in the following subject areas:
- Chemical crystallography, including advances in instrumental, experimental or computational techniques
- Applications of small-molecule crystallographic information in, e.g., structural chemistry, molecular
modelling, materials design, structural biology or chemical informatics.
Candidates for crystallography awards should not be more than 35 years of age on 1 January of the year in which the award is made. There are no age restrictions for the Royal Society of Chemistry Structural Chemistry Award

Three CCDC Poster Prizes are awarded at each triennial IUCr Congress.

The CCDC Prize and Lecture in Chemical Crystallography is sponsored annually as part of the BCA Spring Meeting. Nominations must be made to the Secretary of the BCA Chemical Crystallography Group.

Royal Society of Chemistry
The CCDC sponsors the triennial RSC medal and prize in Structural Chemistry. This award has a somewhat broader scientific remit than for the crystallographic awards noted above. Details can be obtained from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
